Heading back from Anguilla to NYC, Newark, Boston, Philly, Baltimore, Rhode Island or Toronto? We have AARF friends waiting to find homes for Anguillian puppies and kittens and we just need to get them there. Calypso Charters is offering travelers who are bringing back rescue animals for adoption or fostering a discounted departure boat fare to Princess Juliana International Airport. It’s easy — AARF will guide you through the process!
Pet expenses are covered by AARF and they will provide a carrier, the paperwork pet chow and more. All you have to do is add the pup or kitten to your airline reservation and then take the little one onto the plane with you. An AARF rescue family will meet you at the airport on your return.
Calypso’s St. Maarten office is also now a collection point for AARF donations. Supplies are expensive and often impossible to find on-island. Always needed items include rubber gloves for the AARF volunteers, stainless pet bowls, pet collars (all sizes) and leashes.
What is AARF?
The Anguilla Animal Rescue Foundation (AARF) is a non–profit organization dedicated to the welfare of dogs, puppies, cats and kittens on Anguilla. Founded in September 2000, it is operated by a 100 percent unpaid and 100 percent volunteer–driven staff and has an adoption center and rescue shelter located within Anguilla’s only veterinary clinic. AARF’s missions include reducing the pet population through spaying and neutering programs and adopting out rescued animals in need of homes. For more information on AARF, please visit www.aarf.ai.
